Project Maji Wins Global Water Award

The year 2019 started with a bang at Project Maji, as we were declared as the winners of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award 2019. The award is an initiative by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to encourage research centres, individuals, and innovators around the world to find sustainable and innovative solutions to combat the global water crisis.

Supervised by Suqia or UAE Water Aid, under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the award has three main categories, the Innovative Projects Award, the Innovative Research and Development Award, and the Innovative Individual Award. We are proud to share that we were declared the winner (3rd place) in the “Innovative Research and Development” category.

The Project Maji team was presented the award at a glamorous award ceremony at the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Expressing his gratitude over being presented with this honor, our Founder and CEO, Sunil Lalvani said:

"We are so excited to have won this award. It is great acknowledgement for what the team has achieved over the past few years. We are especially glad to have been recognized for our technology innovation that has enabled us to multiply and scale out impact to new levels. This prestigious award will also give Project Maji even greater public awareness and is a very prominent stamp of approval on our work."
